This radiant, platinum-white 1880-O Morgan silver dollar coin is the highest graded coin of its year and type. The coin bears an exceptional MS 65 PL grade, meaning it is a mint state, prooflike coin that exhibits mirrored fields that resemble the quality of a proof coin. Its remarkable quality has been independently verified by the CAC, the Certified Acceptance Corporation, an independent numismatic coin authentication service. The Morgan dollar coin is itself highly collectible; to find a Gem specie such as this example is extraordinary.

Minted from 1878 to 1904, the Morgan silver dollar is named for its designer, the engraver George T. Morgan. The coin features a regal portrait of Lady Liberty, modeled by the philosopher Anna Willess Williams, on the obverse, while the reverse features an eagle with outstretched wings. Crafted from silver, the coin was primarily developed as an outlet for western miners, who had been finding it difficult to sell their silver on the open market. It was halted in 1904 after the silver supply was exhausted.
