Golden clouds fill the night sky of this playful landscape by French artist Lyora Pissarro. As a direct descendant of the Impressionist Camille Pissarro, Lyora embraces her artistic legacy while also updating it for the 21st century, exploring the inherent geometry of the landscape and experimenting with chromatic conventions. A Golden Night is a particularly enchanting example of her output.

The great-great-granddaughter of Camille Pissarro, Lyora Pissarro represents the fifth generation of Pissarro family painters. She is renowned for her colorful, geometric landscapes that celebrate her artistic heritage despite their break with the impressionist tradition. The artist describes her works as creative journeys, “often winding, mostly enchanting and hopefully uplifting.”
