This strikingly beautiful and rare American Brilliant Period cut-glass punch bowl set comes replete with eight cups to sip from and a matching serving ladle. Crafted in the scarce and hotly sought-after Alhambra pattern, this opulent cut-glass ensemble’s brilliant, deep-cut pattern features a hobstar and cane motif offset by a wide Greek Key border characteristic of the famous pattern.

Since its introduction by glassware firm Meriden in 1911, the Alhambra pattern has been lauded as being one of the most expensive American Brilliant glass designs ever cut. Popularly known as Greek Key, Alhambra pieces were appropriately placed in fine jewelry shops among diamonds and precious gemstones. Today, cut-glass pieces composed in this exquisite pattern remain some of the most coveted designs of the American Brilliant Period. According to author Micheal Pearson, to own “even a single piece is a prize” (Encyclopedia of American Cut & Engraved Glass, page 149).
