A quintessential piece of Art Nouveau design, this pendant and its matching chain are the work of Art Nouveau designer Louis Zarra. Sculpted from 18K yellow gold, the pendant takes the form of a beautiful woman with flowing tresses surrounded by flowers and water lilies. She is reminiscent of the mythological water nymphs in John William Waterhouse's legendary Hylas and the Nymphs (1896), a subject that lends itself well to the grace and whimsy of the Art Nouveau style. Plique-à-jour enamel fills the three-dimensional pendant with soft green hues that perfectly complement the overall design. Delicately crafted, the exquisite pendant embodies the finest qualities of the Art Nouveau.

A nearly identical pendant attributed to Zorra is illustrated in Art Nouveau Jewelry by J. Sataloff
