Batmobile Analog Desk Clock

An extraordinary tribute to the most iconic car in comic book history, this limited edition clock takes the form of the 1989 Batmobile. The timepiece was a rare collaboration between the design studio Kross Studio and Warner Bros., the entertainment conglomerate responsible for Tim Burton's 1989 Batman film that features this version of the legendary vehicle. Comprising a remarkable 512 components, it represents the ultimate marriage of Swiss craftsmanship and remarkable design.

The design trades in the Batmobile's turbine engine and built-in machine guns for an analog cylinder clock, which is revealed through a window in the vehicle's hood. In total, 397 components ensure the timepiece keeps accurate time, including three barrels that guarantee its 30-day power reserve and a vertical regulator that runs at a frequency of 21,600 beats per hour. The clock comes complete with a steel winding key, which is appropriately surmounted by the Batman symbol.

The body of the car, comprising 115 separate components, is crafted from materials fit for the Batmobile itself. Black aluminum composite forms the majority of the bodywork, and this is treated with an aeronautical-grade scratch-resistant coating. Lightly tinted windows allow a glimpse of the clock movement in action, while even the wheels of the vehicle spin for a life-like effect. Not even the smallest detail has been overlooked on this state-of-the-art collectible, which was produced in a limited edition of 100.
