One of the most revered jewelry firms in the world for 150 years, the House of Boucheron was founded in 1858 in Paris' Palais Royal by Frédéric Boucheron. These illustrious purveyors of luxury won the Gold Medal during the Exposition Universelle in 1867. In 1893, Boucheron became the first jeweler to move into the Place de Vendôme. A favorite with royals, Boucheron created the crown given to Empress Soraya of Iran upon the occasion of her marriage, and in 1960, at the request of the Shah of Iran, the firm set up the display of the Royal Jewelry Collection in Tehran.
