A stunning mixed-cut octagonal ruby weighing 7.37 carats lies at the center of this sophisticated ring from the renowned jewelry firm Bulgari. This gem is certified by the American Gemological Laboratories as being Burmese in origin and completely untreated. Unheated rubies are scarce, as they are commonly heated to modify their color and appearance.

Burmese rubies are widely considered among the rarest of all gemstones. For centuries, the Burmese ruby has ranked among the most sought-after gems in the world, as stones that hail from these legendary mines are set apart by their incomparable "pigeon's blood" red hue. However, by edict of the King himself, the finest stones were never allowed to leave the kingdom, making these rubies exceedingly rare. Due to political unrest, the country’s borders were closed in 1962, further restricting trade and increasing the rarity of these magnificent gemstones.

The Burmese ruby is encircled by eight round diamonds totaling 9.17 carats. Set in platinum, this ring creates a refined and elevated visual effect.

One of the oldest of Italian luxury jewelry brands, Bulgari has long been synonymous with la dolce vita. Founded in Rome in 1884 by the Greek silversmith Sotirio Bulgari, the firm soon built a reputation for excellence, fashioning jewelry creations of exquisite craftsmanship and high-quality gemstones. With a client list that includes the ever-glamorous Elizabeth Taylor, Bulgari quickly became a household name, and today the brand is synonymous with lavish jewels and striking designs.
