This visually-striking and unique brooch designed by jewelry designer Nicholas Varney incorporates a multitude of precious gemstones that heighten. Taking the form of a winged cicada, this brooch includes a large pearl to represent the insect's body, as well as 4.00 carats of rubies on the cicada's head. This one-of-a-kind brooch, accented by 0.75 carats of white diamonds, also features yellow sapphires and moonstone. Set in 18K gold.

Inspired by nature and the organic, American designer Nicholas Varney began his foray into jewelry design after attending the Gemological Institute of America in Vicenza, Italy. He embraces a whimsical aesthetic, and utilizes unexpected materials like pearls, corals, wood and colored gemstones to create distinctive fine jewelry.
