Elegant and timeless, this necklace was specially made with the legacy of tennis bracelets and necklaces in mind. It is adorned with 121 brilliant, high-grade white diamonds weighing a total of 13.57 carats. Set into a graduated design, the five central, largest gems are certified by the Gemological Institute of America as D-F color and VVS1-VS1 clarity. Tennis necklaces typically do not include diamonds of such high caliber as these, setting this design apart. Set in 18K white gold, the design is completed by an especially charming detail — the clasp takes the form of a tennis racket, with a single diamond mimicking a tennis ball.
The tennis bracelet, previously known as an eternity bracelet, received its signature title in 1987. At the 1987 U.S. Tennis Championships, fashion-forward tennis star Chris Evert halted a particularly intense set when her eternity bracelet flew from her wrist, and the match was suspended until it was recovered. From then on, the design was known as a tennis bracelet, and the incident even inspired a design change: a safety chain with the clasp.
