This outstanding pair of English brass candlesticks was crafted during the reign of William III, with elements of William and Mary period blended with the burgeoning delicacy of the Queen Anne style. Each stick bears a tapering hexagonal stem resting atop a square-form base terminating in delicately scrolling feet. Such a charming pair of candlesticks would have been used on the candle rests of secretaries and cabinets to provide a source of light. Such early brass candlesticks of this wonderful condition and design are truly rare finds of English decorative art.
