Electrical Dental Cabinet

This incredible early 20th-century dental cabinet is the absolute finest example of its kind we have ever had the pleasure to offer. Created by The Dental Manufacturing Co., Ltd. of London, this rare medical antique is much more than a cabinet for dental tools. It also comes complete with its electric switch box that allowed turn-of-the-century oral physicians to power automatic tools such as a drill, light, water irrigator and even an early sterilizer system with ease. This innovation not only made the dentist's job easier and quicker, but it also helped to make the patient's experience far more pleasant. 

The cabinet is crafted of mahogany with wonderful marquetry work, making functional and elegant. Flanking the switch box are glass door cabinets above roll-top compartments housing a myriad of white porcelain-lined drawers for storage of instruments and other handpieces. The cabinet below showcases storage space with glass shelving and a series of drawers and drop-down compartments lined with white porcelain. Plugs to connect the cabinet to electricity and a pull-out porcelain-lined surface are on the left, while the right side of the cabinet reveals more compartments and even a waste basket. Between the upper and lower portions of the cabinet are connection ports for the automatic hand tools. This cabinet truly had everything a dentist would need to treat his patients. 

The cabinet bears several plaques for ease of operation, and a plaque marked "The Dental Manuf. Co. Ltd. / London, Manchester, Glasgow, Dublin". Two plaques bear patent/serial numbers "566466" and "592417."Early 20th Century
