Etched Bohemian Amber Glass Wine Jug

A scene of bucolic forest life is exquisitely etched using both intaglio and relief techniques into this striking Bohemian amber glass wine jug. Comprised of a footed compressed globular form and elongated neck, the jug depicts stags racing through a forest of intricately etched trees and plants. This wondrous motif travels from the body up the neck, culminating in a gilt metal cover with a shell thumbpiece. The engraved initials “L.G.” on the lid complete this marvelous serving vessel.
