This rare minute repeater chronograph Fabrique Germinal pocket watch by Picard & Cie. is a stellar example of functional beauty. The timepiece features a complex movement with a triple-date calendar and moon phases and dials for the seconds, day, date and month. All are displayed with Arabic numbers on a sleek white enamel face with ornate gold Louis XV hands and a blue steeled spade hand on the seconds dial. The cuvette is intricately engraved with a series of five award coins dated from 1897 to 1902 finished in yellow and white gold. A shield surrounded by subtle crosshatch hand-engraving enhances the 18K yellow gold hunter's case, making this watch as handsome as it is complex.
