This entrancing Wedgwood porcelain bowl is a remarkable example of the Fairyland Lustre series created by legendary Wedgwood artist Daisy Makeig-Jones. The piece is adorned by the Daventry pattern, a design that was greatly influenced by the Orientalist style that dominated the early 20th century. Colorful and fantastical patterns and motifs cover every surface of this incredible octagonal bowl, from the geometric rim to the pedestal foot. A gleaming pagoda is intricately executed on the bowl's interior, completing this impressive design.

Created during the early 20th century, the enchanting Fairyland designs created by Makeig-Jones were a significant departure from the traditional, classical motifs for which Wedgwood was renowned. Though they were produced for only a relatively short time, Fairyland Lustre pieces were and remain very popular among collectors.
