George Washington's English Rose Jelly Glass

Once owned by President and First Lady George and Martha Washington, this delicate jelly glass bears the Washington family seal in green wax. Crafted in the English Rose pattern, this rare and delicate glass was once part of the dessert service both during Washington’s presidency and afterward at his Mount Vernon estate. Intricate decorations, from the sharply scalloped rim to the floral cut border and faceting, adorn the elegant trumpet shaped vessel. Distinguished for its incredible presidential provenance, this glass is also a work of skillful artistry. 

A second example of this jelly glass is currently in the collection of Mount Vernon, the historic home of the Washingtons.
