This endearing piece is quintessential Goldscheider, epitomizing both the aesthetic appeal and naturalistic design of the Art Nouveau period. Friedrich Goldscheider founded the Goldscheider Manufactory and Majolica Factory in Vienna in 1885, quickly earning a worldwide reputation for high-quality workmanship and artistry. Goldscheider succeeded in setting the standard and style for Art Nouveau ceramics, and is praised to this day as one of the leading ceramic manufactories of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The quality and condition of this enchanting sculpture is exemplary of Goldscheider at its best.

Signed “Cherc”, Stamped “Reproduction Reservée 1559/239/54.” The “Reproduction Reserve” mark indicates that only a very small number were ever created.
