South Sea pearls are among the largest and most coveted pearls in the world, and the 23 examples in this classic strand necklace can be counted among the finest of their kind. While most South Sea pearls measure between 10 and 15mm, these monumental pearls measure between 17 and 19.4mm, and they are perfectly matched in shape and hue. Their giant size is made all the more extraordinary by each pearls' luster and exceptional condition, setting this strand apart as one of the most impressive known.

South Sea pearls have long been revered for their soft iridescence, radiant luster and incredible size. They are made by the Pinctada maxima, or gold-lipped oyster, which is the largest mollusk in the world and the only species capable of consistently producing pearls of this extraordinary size. The oysters are only found in small numbers in the warm waters of the South Pacific, making these pearls extremely precious.

The pearl are secured by an 18K white gold ball clasp embedded with 2.68 total carats of sparkling white diamonds.
