This outstanding Georgian silver inkstand is the work of renowned female Georgian silversmith Hester Bateman. This set is comprised of its three original cut glass jars, serving as an inkwell, quill stand and pounce pot, set upon an elevated pen tray. Bateman's signature artistry informs the entire set, from the intricately engraved and pierced caps on the jars to the trademark beaded edges and delicate claw and ball feet. Acclaimed as the "Queen of the Georgian Silversmiths," Bateman silver has adored the world over for its refined elegance and brilliant detailing. To find such a beautifully executed piece, in original condition, is quite extraordinary.
