Crafted in the style of Cantagalli, each urn features a highly detailed and expressive istoriato scenes of fortified Italian villages on one side and scenes of Jesus's life and resurrection on the opposite. The handles are gracefully rendered as coiled snakes with grotesque faces in relief at their base. 19th-century majolica porcelain is coveted for its intricate motifs and deep saturation of color, both qualities that distinguish these urns.
