Elaborately hand-carved giltwood frames this highly detailed 18th-century Italian mirror. The frame displays rich ornamentation and natural motifs, with carved images of wheat and farming tools, as well as eagles encircled by acanthus leaves. Defined by exuberant carving, superior craftsmanship and a cohesive ensemble, this looking glass is an excellent example of Italian Rococo design.
