Louis XIV-Style Giltwood Mirror

This Louis XIV-style French mirror features an intricately carved giltwood and stucco frame with an exceptional level of detail. It reflects the grandiose, ornamental style of the Louis XIV age, and it includes an array of period motifs. Its finely carved frame incorporates a lamb's tongue inner and outer border, accented at each corner and side with scrolled acanthus leaves, scallop shells and molded rosette designs.
