Matchless style and craftsmanship are the hallmarks of the Parisian firm L’Escalier de Cristal, and this exceptional side table epitomizes this famed boutique's incomparable skill. The table's graceful Louis XV-inspired form features intricate inlay work and exceptional ormolu mounts that add the perfect touch of opulence. Its elegance of design is surpassed only by its complexity. The compact form holds three drawers, which are cleverly disguised by sliding doors, as well as a leather-lined writing surface, which slides from beneath the top. Cabriole legs with bronze ormolu shoes complete this impeccable piece.

Established in 1802 by Marie-Jeanne-Rosalie Désarnaud-Charpentier, L’Escalier de Cristal quickly became renowned as a luxury store that specialized in objects of both technical and aesthetic innovation. Suppling fine objets d'art and furniture to royal families throughout Europe, the firm had the honor of being appointed Fournisseur Breveté du Roi ("Patented Supplier to the King") in 1819.
