Mettlach Beer Stein with Architecture Books

This wonderful .5 liter Mettach beer stein by Villeroy & Boch of Germany depicts literature of the architectural trade. The porcelain lid is painted with drafting tool and it retains its original zoomorphic pewter thumb hinge which is in the shape of an owl. 

The stein bears the incised Mettlach abbey mark above the form number "2001" and the date mark of "00" for the year 1900.
