This exceptional mythological group was crafted by the famed Meissen Porcelain Manufactory and exhibits the firm’s outstanding level of Rococo artistry. The drunken Silenus is seated astride a donkey supported by Bacchus, god of wine and merriment. Designed by Friederich Elias Meyer, circa 1760, this group also includes a draped bacchante feeding grapes to the donkey whilst a mischievous putto pulls its tail.

The group features the crossed swords marks with an incised pattern number.
