This rare cane would have been owned by one of Napoléon Bonaparte's most staunch supporters. The masterfully carved knob allowed one to discreetly show his loyalty to the exiled Emperor. When hit with direct light, the knob casts a shadow of Napoléon in profile, revealing the allegiances of the holder.
