A magnificent 10.55-carat padparadscha sapphire, the rarest of all of Ceylon's treasured gems, dazzles in this beautiful ring. The gem displays the orangey-pink hue for which padparadschas are coveted. While some padparadschas reflect deeper and more fiery tones, this lovely gemstone showcases the beautiful sunrise hue displayed by some of the finest padparadschas. Gubelin and the Swiss Gemological Institute certify this gem as Ceylon in origin, underscoring its superb quality.
The most valuable of all sapphires, the padparadscha's name is derived from the Sinhalese word for lotus blossom--a bloom that shares the same pinkish-orange color. Sapphires are found in the entire rainbow of hues, but padparadschas, with their unique color, are the only subset of sapphires known by their own name.
This rare sapphire is complemented by a sparkling wreath of white diamonds totaling an impressive 8.42 carats. Set in platinum and 18K gold, the exquisite gems in this ring exude unmatched beauty and luxury.
