This historically significant walking stick was created by a prisoner of war held in Bermuda during the South African War, also known as the Boer War, fought from 1899 to 1902 between the British Empire and two independent Boer states. Topped by the charming face of a dog, this cane is a finely crafted example of P.O.W. decorative art.
