This exceptional Sèvres clock garniture is a charming work of artistry and craftsmanship. Crafted of exquisite Sèvres porcelain mounted in ornately cast ormolu, this garniture celebrates classical ideals and Rococo luxury. The clock and candelabra all feature magnificent enamel paintings of enchanting pastoral scenes and floral bouquets. The gilt bronze mounting perfectly accents the porcelain with foliate motifs and outstanding bases in the Neoclassical style.

Held in the highest esteem among monarchs, emperors, and cardinals since the mid-18th century, Sèvres porcelain pieces such as these are notable for their timeless elegance and superb craftsmanship. The factory began as a modest workshop in the royal chateau of Vincennes in 1740 in an effort to improve the quality and production of French porcelain. The result was some of the most resplendent porcelain ever created.
