This elaborately designed Renaissance-style ceremonial key once belonged to the late Baroness Batsheva Rothschild. Crafted from 16-21K gold, the Spanish key is lavishly adorned by enamel ornamentation, including crosses, foliage and foliate motifs, as well as the Royal Arms of Spain and those of Aragon quartering Castile. It also features an inscription relating to Majorca, reading, "Behold the keys of your Kingdom of the Majorcas which we, the magistrates and the fathers of the State, together with the fathers of the same Kingdom, present out of sincere faithfulness to your Majesty."
