Tiffany Studios Favrile Floriform Vase

This example, which exhibits the vibrant colors and luminescence of Tiffany's coveted Favrile glass, is an exceptionally rare find.

Louis Comfort Tiffany’s discovery of what he coined “Favrile” glass in the mid-1890s had a significant impact on the American decorative arts. Favrile glass exhibits dichroic properties that give Tiffany glass a beautiful iridescence. Not only did his creations win awards at the great exhibitions, but they inspired other glassmakers such as Loetz and Quezal to create their own luminescent glass objects. Complete with its original bronze base, this vase typifies Tiffany's interpretation of Art Nouveau.
