This imaginative mid-century enameled metal umbrella and cane stand is the work of Milanese artist and designer, Piero Fornasetti. Its trompe l'oeil facade creates the illusion of stacked suitcases, concealing the umbrella storage at the rear.

Fornasetti was a prolific painter, sculptor, interior decorator and engraver who created more than 11,000 objects during his lifetime. He was celebrated for his eclectic, playful creations that encompassed everything from furniture to ceramics to bicycles. Works by Fornasetti are in tremendous demand and are celebrated by designers and collectors alike.
