This Victorian game set is exquisitely crafted of the finest satinwood, the refined simplicity of this table hides the emporium of games within. Upon lifting the upper lid and sliding out the drawers, backgammon, chess, checkers, cards, horse racing and a croquet board are revealed.

Parlor games were widely popular and de rigeur for nobility and upper-class Victorian families in England, so much so that a special room was created to house specialty furniture like this luxurious satinwood multi-level games table. The parlor was for welcoming guests, and for family activities, it was often the most finely decorated room in the house. The style and size of the table were often indicators of status for well-to-do Victorian families.
