This rare Fairyland Lustre vase by Wedgwood features the fantastic Imps on a Bridge design, one of the most popular in this enchanting collection. The imaginative motif depicts a bat-like "Roc" bird gliding above a procession of green imps making their way across an arched bridge set against a backdrop of brightly colored hues. Introduced by Wedgwood artist Daisy Makeig-Jones in 1915, Fairyland Lustre marked a departure from the factory's history of neoclassical design and subdued color with its fiery hues and fanciful subjects. Targeting the high-end luxury goods market, they represent one of Wedgwood's most extraordinary technical and artistic achievements in the ceramic industry. Vibrant and unusual, this amazing vase reflects the superior quality of Wedgwood porcelain and the artistic force of Makeig-Jones.

Marked on base with the Wedgwood stamp, painted shape number 2351 and pattern number Z5360.
