At its origins, this necklace was crafted to embody the zenith of Italian beauty. While being crafted, the jewelers named this piece “The Botticelli” due to its resemblance to Sandro Botticelli’s Primavera, highlighting its connection to high Renaissance art. It was on display at the Bulgari: Between Eternity and History: 1884-2009 retrospective exhibition at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome, celebrating Bulgari’s 125th anniversary. After being acquired by a private client at the Rome exhibition, the necklace was loaned for display at the Grand Palais in Paris for the Bulgari 125 Years of Italian Excellence exhibition. The owner orchestrated a romantic gesture by surprising his wife with the necklace during their visit to the exhibition, creating a deeply emotional moment for all involved.
Founded in Rome in 1884 by Greek silversmith Sotirio Bulgari, Bulgari has long epitomized "la dolce vita." Renowned for its exquisite craftsmanship and exceptional gemstones, the brand swiftly became synonymous with luxury, attracting illustrious clients such as Elizabeth Taylor. This necklace, one of the final pieces designed under the direct leadership of the Bulgari family before the company's acquisition by LVMH in 2011, represents a pivotal era in Bulgari’s storied history. Before 2011, Bulgari’s jewelers produced only 20-30 pieces annually for their high jewelry collection, ensuring that each creation received the utmost care and precision. As a distinguished emblem of Bulgari’s golden age, this necklace is a singular masterpiece. This necklace also comes with official Bulgari certification and valuation.
