A gray natural pearl dangles from this plique-à-jour enamel necklace crafted during the Art Nouveau era, while a natural white pearl sits within the soft green enameling. Its gold setting resembles trellised vines with seed pearls and near-colorless Old European brilliant-cut diamonds. Set in 14K and 18K yellow gold.

Plique-à-jour is an enameling technique similar to cloisonné in which viscous enamels are applied in cells. In this method, however, there is no backing to the cell, so light can transmit through the translucent enamel, giving the finished piece an exceptional radiance.
