Founded in 1875 by Jules-Louis Audemars and Edward-Auguste Piguet, Audemars Piguet is one of the oldest watch manufacturers and a world leader in haute horology. The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, designed by Gérald Genta in 1972, is the most iconic watch from the brand and remains the integrated bracelet sports watch of reference. According to legend, the watch is named for a group of vessels in Britain's Royal Navy, which is reflected in its water-resistant design inspired by antique diving helmets. Recognized as the world's first luxury sports wristwatch, the Royal Oak maintains a strong following among collectors even 50 years after its debut. However, this one-of-a-kind example elevates exclusivity to an entirely new level and stands among the finest timepieces available on the market today.
