A handsome and rare Georgian-style reading chair, expertly crafted of mahogany. With its high, wide back that slims at the seat, the chair is constructed so that the reader sits in the chair backwards, comfortably resting their arms on the yoke. This unique piece is upholstered in soft, dark red leather, and is accented with round head nail borders and reeded front legs. Sabre legs in the back provide additional stability. Reading chairs are among the rarest of all Georgian furniture. To find one in such excellent condition is truly exceptional.
