Crafted to commemorate one of the most significant milestones in human history, this Omega Speedmaster Apollo XI in gold is an extraordinary example of horological innovation and historical importance. Released in 1969 to honor the Apollo 11 moon landing, this limited-edition timepiece is part of the exclusive series of just 1,014 pieces produced between 1969 and 1973. Numbered 386 out of 1,014, it is one of the most exclusive timepieces by the renowned maker. Early examples were gifted to NASA astronauts at the famed "Astronaut Appreciation Dinner" in Houston. This Speedmaster not only embodies Omega's pioneering legacy but also stands as a tangible tribute to the spirit of exploration and achievement.

The watch features an 18K yellow gold case with a solid gold dial, distinguished by the 'OM' marking at 6 o’clock, signifying “or massif” or pure gold. A maroon tachymeter bezel and a gold-tone baton index dial complement the luxurious design, while the screw-down caseback is engraved with the phrase, "The first watch worn on the moon." Powered by the renowned Caliber 861 mechanical movement with 17 jewels, the Speedmaster Apollo XI ensures precision and reliability. The chronograph features an array of sophisticated features, ideal for an extra-terrestrial mission, including a 30-minute totalizer register at 3 o’clock, a 12-hour totalizer at 6 o’clock and a small seconds subdial at 9 o’clock. The Speedmaster improves upon the chronograph functions by including the tachymeter scale engraved on the bezel to measure the approximate speed over a known distance. The watch is complete on its matching 18K gold bracelet with a deployant clasp.

As the first watch on the moon and a cornerstone of the Speedmaster's storied legacy, this limited-edition Apollo XI is a part of history.
