René Boivin is one of the most legendary names in French jewelry. Founded in 1890, the house quickly became celebrated for its bold, unconventional designs, sought after by aristocrats, artists and intellectuals alike. Known as the “jeweller of the intelligentsia,” Boivin’s creations were available by referral only, making each item a rare and exclusive treasure.

This exceptional bracelet exemplifies the house’s brilliance, composed of oval cabochon opals of the highest quality, their vibrant hues spanning fiery oranges and reds to soft, luminous blues. The design is accented by collet-set circular-cut diamonds and set in 18K yellow gold.

After René’s untimely death in 1917, his widow Jeanne Boivin took the helm, a groundbreaking achievement for a woman in the early 20th century, continuing the maison’s tradition of innovative design. Inspired by nature, distant lands and Art Deco architecture, Jeanne, often in collaboration with the couple’s daughter Germaine, crafted some of the most original and impeccably executed jewelry of the era. This bracelet, circa 1956, reflects her vision, capturing the naturalistic beauty and bold elegance that made Boivin jewels legendary.
