This seal from Hotan, called Yuxi in Chinese, is made after the imperial seal used by the Emperor of China during the Qing dynasty. The stamp of the seal translates to approximately "Heavenly blessings of longevity and wealth" and would have been used to authenticate, sign and authorize documents. These seals were multi-purpose, serving as functional objects, aesthetic marks of beauty and powerful symbols of wealth and power. Receiving a document bearing the emperor's seal was regarded as the highest honor.

The Shoushan white jade carving adorning the seal depicts a two-headed Hong dragon, or rainbow dragon, which symbolizes duality and authority. There are many lines of poetry carved into the exquisite seal, some of which read: "Embrace the days of the past, Do not forget the matters of yesterday, Let our hearts learn to understand, Prosperity and abundance come from wisdom and diligence, These are the most precious wealth."

The box is marked and can be translated to "Treasure of the Emperor" and was made to associate this seal with royalty.

Many of the emperors' seals are in museums such as The Palace Museum in Beijing and The MET in New York.
