This exceptionally rare Jack-in-the-pulpit Favrile glass vase by Tiffany Studios displays one of the company’s best-known and most popular Art Nouveau designs. This extraordinarily elegant vase was one of the hallmarks of Tiffany's decorative glass, nearly as recognizable as Tiffany windows or lamps. Its flaring floral form, slender ribbed stem and rounded base make it instantly recognizable, and its golden iridescence displays the qualities for which Tiffany Favrile glass is so loved. Named after the North American perennial, this art glass vase captures the essence of Art Nouveau, with its graceful lines and naturalistic theme.

Inspired by the fluidity and translucence of ancient Roman and Middle Eastern glass, Louis Comfort Tiffany produced blown glass, which he named "Favrile," between 1891 and 1928. These creations were among his very best, renowned for their opalescent and iridescent colored finishes. In sharp contrast to the solid forms of his leaded glass designs, the Favrile collection highlighted Tiffany's exceptional eye for the delicate and the ethereal, and this vase embodies his legendary aesthetic perfectly.
