The most valuable of all sapphires, the padparadscha's name is derived from the Sinhalese word for lotus blossom — a bloom that shares the same pastel pinkish-orange color. Sapphires are discovered in the entire rainbow of hues, but padparadschas, with their unique color, are the only subset of sapphires known by their own name.
The rare sapphire is encircled by a sunburst of glittering white diamonds totaling approximately 3.33 carats. Set in platinum.
