A triumph of American Art Nouveau design, this Louis Comfort Tiffany bracelet dazzles with an exceptional painterly array of yellow sapphires, precious topazes, demantoid garnets, additional sapphires, tourmalines and yellow diamonds. Crafted around 1915 by Tiffany & Co., the bracelet displays alternating links of three yellow sapphires, totaling 33.45 carats, and three precious topazes, totaling 33.14 carats, each bracketed by circular wire motifs that culminate in elegant whiplash curves. The central gemstones are further enhanced by a halo of multicolored jewels, creating a luminous, color-forward composition characteristic of Tiffany’s most celebrated art jewelry. The bracelet is accompanied by its IAJ report, and the yellow sapphires are accompanied by an AGL report confirming their Ceylon origin.

This rare example reflects the innovative direction set by Louis Comfort Tiffany and the masterful execution led by Head Designer Meta K. Overbeck, whose tenure from 1914 to 1933 shaped the Art Jewelry Department at Tiffany’s 37th Street store. A vivid testament to artistry, craftsmanship and color, it stands among the finest surviving jewels of the American Art Nouveau movement. Set in 18K yellow gold.

Circa 1915

7 1/4" length

The design is illustrated in Meta Overbeck’s Design for Louis C. Tiffany Art Jewelry (Overbeck, Ruggiero & Thalheimer, 2024, Applewood Books), p. 51, underscoring the bracelet’s significance within Tiffany’s early 20th-century creative output.
