Pierre Sterlé founded his atelier in 1943 near the Place Vendôme in Paris. Operating by appointment only, his ingenuity and innovative designs attracted socialites and royals alike. His favorite motifs included birds, wings, feathers, animals, and flowers. His designs were executed in a baroque, asymmetrical style and were typically embellished with a combination of precious and semi-precious gemstones. Highly exclusive and in demand, he sold his business to Chaumet in the early 1970s, where he remained a visionary designer.
