This exceptional Tiffany Studios floor lamp displays the rare Apple Blossom pattern. The majestic shade depicts vibrant sprays of pink blossoms set against a lush spring-green ground, capturing the delicacy of the apple tree in full bloom. One of Tiffany’s most lyrical designs, the lamp’s graceful sense of movement places it among the firm’s most beautiful floral shades.

Flowering apple trees were one of Louis Comfort Tiffany’s favorites, and he lined the private drive of his estate, Laurelton Hall, with hundreds of them. Tiffany employed the delicate apple blossom across a variety of his lamps, windows and other objects, yet this pattern is rarely seen in such a large floor model as this one.

The earliest design for the Apple Blossom shade is attributed to Clara Driscoll, head of Tiffany Studios’ Women’s Glass Cutting Department, whose contributions shaped many of the firm’s most beloved floral lamps. Driscoll and her team, known as the “Tiffany Girls,” were celebrated for their exceptional eye for color selection and their ability to translate botanical forms into glass.

Tiffany lamps such as this are some of the great icons of American decorative arts, representing Louis Comfort Tiffany's seemingly limitless creativity and endless quest for beauty. Similar examples of this Apple Blossom lamp reside in important museum collections such as the Queens Museum and the New York Historical Society.
