First Female Impressionist?

2 minute read

Berthe Morisot was the grand-niece of the renowned Rococo painter Jean-Honore Fragonard. Edouard Manet painted more portraits of Morisot than any other woman including his wife, and Morisot has commanded the highest price for a painting done by a female artist ever sold at auction.
