Set in 14K yellow gold.

Crafted circa 1895, the brooch bears the master mark of Finnish jeweler August Holmström, one of Fabergé's most accomplished workmasters. As a senior member of the firm's workshops, Holmström created many of its finest jewels, making his signed works exceptionally rare and highly sought after. The brooch is preserved in a rare A La Vieille Russie box, the first major retailer of Fabergé in America.

Founded in Saint Petersburg in 1842, the House of Fabergé became the premier jeweler to the Russian Imperial Court under Peter Carl Fabergé. Renowned for its extraordinary craftsmanship and creations for the Romanov family, the firm's surviving jewels remain among the most coveted treasures of the late Imperial era.
