This exceptional pair of Fabergé jugs combines vivid green glass with finely crafted silver mounts in the form of thistles, showcasing the firm's celebrated synthesis of naturalistic design and luxurious materials. Dating to circa 1890 and bearing Moscow silver hallmarks of 84 zolotniks as well as the firm's Imperial Warrant, these rare jugs exemplify the refined Russian decorative arts of the Imperial period.

Founded in 1842 in St. Petersburg by Gustav Fabergé, the House of Fabergé was transformed under the leadership of his son, Peter Carl Fabergé, who took over the firm in 1872. Under his direction, the firm became one of the most prestigious luxury houses in the world, producing exquisite jewelry and objets d’art for an elite international clientele that included the Romanov Imperial family. The firm's appointment as a supplier to the Imperial Court and its celebrated Imperial Warrant further established Fabergé as the foremost name in Russian luxury craftsmanship. Surviving examples of the firm's silver and decorative arts are highly sought after today, making this rare pair a remarkable testament to the artistry of Fabergé's workshop.
