This engraved commemorative glass loving cup is a beautiful celebration of George V and Queen Mary's Silver Jubilee on May 6, 1935. The Silver Jubilee marked the 25-year anniversary of King George V's accession to the thrones of the United Kingdom and other British Dominions. Crafted by Thomas Goode & Co. of London, the vase is one of only 25 ever made, making these objects especially prized.

This was the very first Silver Jubilee ever recognized by a British monarch until that point in history, and it was marked by a number of celebratory events and Jubilee souvenirs such as this one. From coins to stamps and mugs to flags, commemorative items honored the life of their beloved monarch. This vase is an especially fitting tribute, embellished with the King's crowned monogram, bells, Tudor roses and a ribbon inscribed "The Greatness of their Majesties is Reflected in the Silver Mirror of 1935 by the Happiness of their People, May 6, 1935"

Numbered 4/25 and signed "T. Goode & Co. Ltd. London, 1935"
