This exquisite pair of 19th-century French settees captures the spirit of the Louis XVI style. Beautifully embellished throughout, the settees rest on four classically-inspired reed legs.

Renowned for its old-world refinement, Louis XVI-style furniture originated during the reign of Louis XV of France in the mid-18th century. Highly ornamental, yet elegant, Louis XVI furniture was more feminine and subdued than in previous years, and was constructed with gracious curving lines from crest to foot. In addition, cast and gilded bronze mounts were added, accentuating the elegance and luxury of these intricately crafted pieces.
